Going on with the project Because I never did work with this brand of selfdrying clay I decided to cover parts of the head and words with acrylic medium, so the other parts could be painted with the first (or only) colour of paint. While paints and glues were drying  I used a plastic ‘circle ( ment to be used as  a handle for a homemade shopbag or such) to make kind of a web to  carry the paper pole on it. Pinterest is such a great source of inspiration. Even sometimes a too big source. So many things I would like to try and so often too less time to do that. About a month ago I did read about ‘explosion books’ and I wanted to try that. Never heard of them before. You will see in following photographs that there is a lot of volour in this book. But it is not all about eyecandy. The used papers all have a different feel, a different structure.  A pity, dear readers, that I cannot convey that with the pictures in this blog. Hi All, once finished this work will become a new ARTifact on paper. like the one before. I have understood that some of you are wondering about the proces of making such work with the alcohol splattering and therefor I have made pictures of the different stages of this ( unfinished) work. You could say it is a sort of a tutorial. the first layer, after the alcohol has dried use water to moisten the paint/paper bring on a second layer of thinned paint and use alcohol to splat

As I said in an older post I was going to try a new way of painting ( new for me that is ; maybe because I have no formal art-education). It has to do with splattering alcohol in a not dry layer of acrylic paint. The alcohol ‘bites’ away the colour. So you get circles  etc with a rim of the colour of the last layer and an inside of the earlier layer(s). You dry it and then repeat the proces for so many layers you want. Dear reader, I have to confess something terrible:  I love glitter and especialy Stickles. Well, I decided that for my next mixed=media-canvas I wanted a light background with a lot of stickles. Dear readers, lately I have been reading a lot ( all 14 volumes of the Wheel of Time by Richard Jordan ), writing a lot ( my own book, but I guess I will need more years to make it even a bit readable). Sometimes it is necessary to go trough all the materials one has collected. I have a tendency to buy new pencils or pens or paper or… to try them out.And if I like them I work a lot with them.And older items are forgotten.
